Speed Challenge

Sharing another piece from the Slumber Party last night over on OWSE
This was a speed round to use all items called by Robyn. Three buttons, dry embossing, key, hand made flower, image, butterfly, heart, banner, circles, die cuts, bling, trim, lace and more.
I finished this in just a little over 3o minutes.
I had to do a lot of cutting, inking, stamping and arranging. Nothing was planned. I used a total of 5 die cuts from Tim Holtz dies, one of his embossing folders and his distress inks and alcohol inks.
The stamped image is from Mrs O'Leary's.
I started out with an area too small for all the items listed so I started stacking them. The butterfly die cut from glossy cardstock was inked with alcohol inks, heart die cut with distress ink and banner made with wallpaper. This is a 3-D piece over the stamped and dry embossed card front.

Drawer Box

OWSE had a slumber party last night. This is a challenge Robyn asked us to do. Here is a link to our challenge: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/drawerbox/
My box was made with 4 sheets of heavy cardstock.
I reinforced the box with Tim's tissue tape. The top was finished off with TH bird die cut along with die cuts from my Silhouette digital craft cutter.

Valentine 12 Tags of 2012 & Grungy Monday #36

This is a quote from Tim's website:
Beginning of each month I will post a tag tutorial (with step by step photos, video, etc). The tag will be themed to that month's holiday season if applicable, or just a new idea to share.

Linda ask us to create a Valentine themed piece using at least one Tim Holtz product and include a link from our sponsor's site; Simon Says Stamp
http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/StoreFront

This is my Tim and Grungy Monday piece using many of Tim Holtz products. I wish I had the Movers & Shapers Magnetic die for this tag.

I used TH Dabber paints in red and white, TH Distress inks in Barn Door and Spun Sugar, TH Stampers Anonymous Cupid cling stamp, TH swirl Texture Fades embossing folder, TH Music tissue tape, TH Vintage Lace strip die and TH Cherish idea-lology.
The cupid was inked and painted with Barn Door and then cut out. Next I used Xmas Red Stickles on the Cupid.
The Vintage Lace was cut with Kraft paper and then inked with Barn Door distress ink.
The seam binding was sprayed with water, inked with spun sugar distress ink, crinkled and heat set to dry before added to tag with the bead embellishments.
Thanks for Looking and have a nice day!

Grungy Monday #35

Grungy Monday 35 challenge this week is to create Tim Holtz"s ATC card using at least one of his products or technique. I used many more on my ATC.

I used Tim's heart and crown dies, TH Stampers Anonymous bookplate and love stamp. Tim's Distress crackle paint in picket fence, tarnished paint and rock candy. Tim's grunge board and grungepaper on hearts and crown.
Archival black was used to ink Tim Holtz love stamp from Stampers Anonymous.
Glossy Accents was used as glue.
Clear embossing was used on book cover image after it was inked with barn door distress ink.

Mixed Media

This is another piece I made viewing Traci's online workshop classes. The flowers were made on copy paper using a free handed design with black ink and then water-colored after they were applied to the background. The circles were made with the lid on Stickles bottle. The background was made with dabber paints and plastic canvas. Face and hair on the woman was made with dabber paint and acrylic paint. The eyelashes were made with a three strand paint brush and black watercolor.

Creations on Watercolor Paper

I was down with my mother Sunday through Wednesday. I always enjoy the time we have together. Mother wanted to see Traci's online workshop videos. http://www.strathmoreartiststudio.com/ I didn't take many supplies with me this time, we used what we had on hand. Mother had watercolor paper and a few bottles of paint. I brought down four bottles of dabber paint and a few bottles of stickles.

This is the first of five I made while viewing the videos.
