Riveted Patchwork #22

Riveted Patchwork

I choose Riveted Patchwork from Tim Holtz: A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2, page 57 as our challenge #22. This week's sponsor is Funkie Junkie, Linda is offering $25 to one lucky winner. http://www.zibbet.com/TheFunkieJunkie.

I made this tag following Tim's directions and then made it my own finishing it with new stamps.
I used Kromecote; http://www.vlvstamps.com/cardstock-8-1-2-x-11-package-of.html with Rangers archival black ink to stamp the images: http://www.vlvstamps.com/plate-893.html

Baby Bear Costume Party

A call to create a brand new preject; ATC, tag, card or anything on Tuesday's Halloween Blog Hop. http://vivalas.blogspot.com/2012/09/halloween-party-day-2.html
Anyone can enter if you have a VLVS stamp.

I didn't have any halloween images but did have a VLVS  bear image and made it into a spooky little witch! (baby bear item 1156)
This little bear is going to a Costume Party!

I stamped the bear image with black ink on Kromecote glossy cardstock. Heat Set to dry. A mask was made and placed over the bear image.
Rusty hinge and spiced marmalade distress inks were used to color around the masked image. Heat set. Remove the mask.
Distress inks were used to color the bear by spreading a little ink from pad on craft sheet and then a waterbrush was used to color the bear.
The paper hat was made with my digital cutter.
Glitter paper and stickers were added to top of card.
Rock candy stickles was added to the wings and heat set.
Black emamel accents was added to the bears eyes and heat set.

For those that don't have Tim's newest book here are the details to get an autographed copy: http://timholtz.com/a-compendium-of-curiosities-volume-ii/

To make my tag I used Tim's images from Trick or Treat #50, Mini Halloween2 #113 and the Happy Halloween Reflections #112 along with distress stains, distressed alterations TF, distress tool, distress inks, black archival ink, Vagabond and heat tool. Black seam binding from my stash.

Thanks for looking and have a nice day!

12 Tags of 2012 ~ September

I love Tim's tag for this month: http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2012-september/

Last night I got out the metal tape and played around with found objects in the house to make marks in the metal. I made the most beautiful color on the metal tape with pitch black, butterscotch and sail boot blue alcohol inks. DH found a steel wool pad in our wood working shop, yeah! I can finish this tag. (The photo shows blue background but it's more silver than anything)
I used lots of Tim's supplies, some were in my stash. One good find was a metal piece; it's my key holder. I found it at a little goodie store in Kansas. You never know what you find each time.

The supplies from Tim Holtz:
Tag die, Vagabond die cutting tool, Alcohol inks with applicator, Curiosities stamp set # 104 and  Steampunk stamp set #107, brush corduroy distress ink, white dabber paint, pen nib, brads, gears, word band, scissors, punch and mini-stapler.
Archival black ink from Ranger.

Black seam binding, key and found object, steel wool, metal tape manila folder and screw eyelet from my stash.

CC2C#20 Enameled Stamping

Linda chose Enameled Stamping page 44 as our technique challenge for CC2C#20.
You can purchase your copy of Tim's Volume 2 here: http://timholtz.com/a-compendium-of-curiosities-volume-ii/ Tim and Mario will sign your copy on request.
The background on my piece is the enameled stamping technique.

The supplies I used:
Tim's Cling Stamp Sets: #126, #50 and #113, Alterations Vintage Cabinet Card die and insert, Distress inks and foam Applicator, Distress markers, Mini-stapler, Clear embossing powder, Archival Black ink, Glue N Seal, Enamel Accents; black and white, Sizzix Bat strip die, Cardboard, White, black and gold cardstock, Glue Dots, Silver cardstock.

I used the Enamel Accents white and black on the bats eyes, I didn't notice until I finished, the eyes are looking up.

The paper used with the cabinet card die was made with paper found in the specialty section of my hobby store.

I decided on day two to change the owl with another witch!

P.S.
This piece was inspired when I saw a member from ATT group create artwork using the cabinet card die.

Toy Soldier

This toy soldier image is from Tim Holtz Christmas Blueprints #135 stamp set I won from Simon Says Stamp!
The Merry Christmas is from Christmas Memories #118 stamp set.

I inked the background with distress inks and then stamped the images with black archival ink. The toy soldier was painted with two distress markers. I added a gold embellishment on his hat.

Challenge for "Read all about it"

Simon Says Stamp and Show is having a challenge with a 30 day stamp celebration during the month of Stamptember. http://simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com/2012/09/challenge-read-all-about-it_4.html
This is a "Read all about it" challenge using words.

This is my challenge project. I used a band saw to cut a science book. As you can see when open it's makes into a full heart.
This page was made with a real map, word stamps, flower stamped images, face stamp and more words. H20's were used to paint the flowers.

Snowman

Yes, it's a Snowman! Maybe it will help cool things off. We have had more than 30 days with over 100 degrees here in Oklahoma.
This is from the new set of stamps; Christmas Blueprint #135. I believe I read that one of Mario's son and Tim collaborated to make this stamp.
I also used Tim's snowflake stamp from set #66, his new summer set of distress inks and four of his distress markers. Archival black ink was used to stamp the snowman and snowflakes.
It's my first try with the snowman and I wanted to share it here on my blog.
I can't wait to use this stamp again and maybe when I feel better will come up with more ideas. This is the first time in 13 days I felt like stamping or adding a comment on other blogs.
