Blue Bird Has A Song

I'm having so much fun making these little tags. I used a bunch of Archival inks on the background; maroon, olive, mustard and russet with foam stamps by Claudine Hellmuth and stencils from plaid. I've had the Archival ink since 2007 and they are still wet. I love these inks.
My little bird by Dina Wakley was painted with watercolors. The quote was inked, trimmed and added to the tag.

Spread your Wings

I used one of the Scribbly bird stamps by Dina Wakley on this piece along with a variety of stamps and supplies from my stash.
Since the bird stamps arrived few days ago; I've had fun stamping and painting. On this piece, I stamped the bird directly on the paper, other birds on my craft table are fussy cut in yellow birds, blue birds and red birds.

Supplies:
Dina Wakley's Scribbly bird, paintbrushes and media paints, Dyan Reaveley's stamps, Tim Holtz's stencil and Archival black ink.

Thanks for stopping by! Comments Appreciated!!

Note: If I like a product I'll share what I use.

Moments in Time

Here is another little tag using one of those adorable images from Scribbly Birds cling stamp set.
I used my finger to add Dina's media paint on background. The little bird was inked with Archival black on heavy card stock, fussy cut and then painted with media paint. I love how this little tag turned out.
Other supplies from my stash; Moments in Time cling stamp, Texture stamp and vintage mesh.

Soaring Birds

My Scribbly bird cling stamp set arrived yesterday along with the Fude ball pen and spinner stencil. The pen works really well over acrylic paint.

To make my tag, I started with a Gelli paper background, followed by blackberry violet media paint added to piece with a credit card, followed by a stamp made from an on the edge honeycomb die using Archival olive ink, fallowed by Dina's spinner stencils using Archival media paint. The white circles were made with a bottom of a Ranger bottle, the paper was applied to the green tag  which I made with Dylusions spray inks. Soar and tiny dots stamps by IBFS was inked using Archival mustard and Archival black. The birds were inked and painted using Dina's media paint and applied to my tag to finish.

My Cutie Pie

My little blue bird started out as a pencil drawn circle and an oblong.
I think he turned out so cute.
And then I had fun painting it using my new paints by Dina Wakley.

I wish I had finished the journal page before drawing my bird. Ideas are rolling around in my head how to finish my page, do I use a mask to cover the bird and then paint the background or cut the bird out and then place it on another page although I love my branch and leaves that were hand drawn as well.

Stenciled Woman with Flowers

Dina's heavy body paints makes your projects pop!

This is the results from playing with these paints today.

I used the half inch Dina paintbrush with night paint to color the negative space on one of the two women stencils, the rest of the tag was made with Dina's heavy body paint, a few flower stencils made with a die, a stamp, a wet wipe and my fingers.

I used Copic black ink with write words and then I used a checkerboard stamp with plum Archival ink across the tag including the face.

I don't get free supplies for sharing my projects, just love to play with my stamps and supplies.

If you don't like inky fingers, try Artguard Barrier Cream on your hands. When you're through painting wipe off paint extra with a dry cloth and rinse. And, if you still have a little paint on your fingernail polish, use hand sanitizer with hand wipes and within minutes you have clean hands.
I have used the Barrier Cream for years; it works!

Love Rock!

Hi, Everyone!
Welcome to my blog, I have almost 80,000 hits on my blog. I can't believe it!
Thanks everyone that visits my blog!!

I finished this tag last evening, I found out you defiantly get better results when you use gesso first on your projects with Dina's new heavy body acrylic paints.
The woman image is actually a stencil, it was painted on a gesso 4x8" tag using night paint with a wet brush.
Most of the coloring done on this piece was dry brushed.
Archival black and plum inks were used with Dina's night, tangerine, turquoise, lime, lemon, and magenta.

Smile is the Key

Hello, I hope you are having a nice day.

Today I'll share a tutorial using one of the Julie Nutting stamped images with Dyan Reaveley sentiment stamp.

I began, by using Archival black ink to stamp my mixed media doll image on 140 lb. watercolor paper, this was set aside to dry and then fussy cut.
I used watercolor crayons with a water-brush to color her hair, face, arms and legs.
The edge of ink pad was used to tone down all white edges of doll image. My favorite for this technique is the little inking tool that looks like an iron by Prima. I used Teak Wall. Set aside to dry.

Cut a tag from Once Upon Time stack then apply paper tag to
Matte board tag.

Edge around tag with Teak Wall ink pad.
A second coordinating page from Once Upon Time stack was used to stamp dolls skirt, bolero, headband and shoes. Trim close, set aside.
Stamp another doll image on white card stock, cut out bodice.
Apply skirt, bodice, headband and shoes to watercolor paper doll image.

Apply mixed media doll image to tag.
Stamp sentiment on white card stock with Archival black ink, cut out, and then added to my tag.
Apply a generous amount of glue to adhere three paper flowers; glass pin and die cut leaves to finish my tag.

Dina Wakley's Irresistible

I'm having fun playing with my new Dina Wakley paints, paintbrushes, one stencil and three stamp set I purchased recently.

Here is my quick tutorial on my ATC:
Dina Wakley's Lapis, Blackberry Violet and Ruby paints were applied using one of her paintbrushes to an ATC.
I placed a Crafter's Workshop stencil over the background and then using Dina's Night paint I added the text with one of her paintbrushes.
I used one of Dyan's Dylusions stencil with Liquitex flexible modeling paste to add dots over my ATC. After the paste dried, I added a little bit of Distress ink on edge of ATC; I was hoping some of the dots would come back white when I used a wet cloth like I saw Tim do in a video recently. No, they are now yellow so I added the distress ink to cover entire ATC. At first, I didn't like the results but now I do!
Two Dina Wakley "Clearly All the Gals" stamped images were inked on cream 110 lb. card-stock and cut out.
I used my water brush with Distress markers to added color to lady stamped image.
Zots were used to apply lady stamped image to ATC.
Adhesive was used to apply quote to ATC.
Well, that's it for today. I hope you have a nice day and come back soon. I'll show you more projects using my new stamping supplies.
