12 Tags of 2014 ~ October

Tim has created a spectacular Trick or Treat tag. Here is his tag:

I started this tag October 1st.  The triangle pieces are actually the inside of "on the edge" Honeycomb die by Tim Holtz. I've also used Tim's spider stamp, remnant rubs and trimmings.
I was at my mothers home the day Tim shared his tag, we worked on our tags with her pumpkin die by Sizzix and few of stamping supplies I brought down and then planned on finishing it when I arrived home October 5th.
The next day I couldn't stand up without a cane. I was in severe pain from shots I had in both of my legs. My body is rejecting the fluid the vein doctor put in my veins. I already had the deep vein treatment with fluid injections with laser before they did sclerotherapy.
This caused me to have thrombus phlebitis. I was off my feet for 17 days. This was all done with no pain pills. I'm allergic to aspirin and other drugs that would help.
Today, October 25 I'm still in pain but not that I have to be off my feet 100%. I can't wait to get back to normal and leave my cane behind.
Update November 22, 2014
The veins in my legs are getting hard and at times painful. The doctor that did my vein treatments said my body will absorb the veins. Since I've had the treatments I can't stand anything salty.

Fall Is Here

I was inspired to make this piece weeks ago after viewing Emma Willams project on Tim Holtz blog. Here is the blog link: http://timholtz.com/autumn-leaves-canvas/

Supplies are Tim Holtz dies, stencil, modeling paste, 4 x 4" canvas from Michaels, Dina Wakley paints.

If anyone has noticed why I haven't posted much this month, I've had a painful reaction to sclerotherapy done on my legs September 23 in Wichita, KS and have had be in bed or on couch for the last 17 days. The only place I've been out of the house; to see my MD doctor; he said I have Thrombosis Phlebitis.
October 22 was my first day up and walking without a cane. I'm still in pain but tolerable. Its October 25, still in pain walking with a cane again. I wish the pain would leave. The vein clinic told me it takes 3 to 6 months of the veins to die, I hope it doesn't take that long. It has been over a month since I had the vein shots in both legs called sclerotherapy. When he did the deep vein shots with ultrasound it was painful as well. If I had thought the surface shots were going to hurt this bad, I would have changed my mind and not taken them. My local doctor told me my body is rejecting the fluid put in my veins.
I have a wonderful husband, he has taken very good care of me. Thank you Loyd!

Update November 4, 2014, I think my legs are on the mends, I've gone one night not waking up feeling pain.

Halloween Bird

My little bird was inked, stamped, trimmed close and then added to my halloween stamped and painted background. Dina Wakley paints were used to color bird, hat and background. I made the tiny heart with Dina's smallest paint brush and blackberry violet paint. Archival black was used to ink bats, script and little bird.
