Snowflake Tag by Jo Adair

This is a tag my mother sent me using one of her new large snowflake die by Tim Holtz. She also used the small snowflake die from winter wonder.
My mother used some of her favorite distress inks on this projects; broken china and vintage photo.
Other embellishments were from her stash.

Snowflake Tag

My dear Mother at 89 years young loves to make cards and tags as much as I do. When she was at her Hobby Lobby last week she purchased a few of Tim Holtz dies. She sent me a few embossed snowflakes. This is what I made with one of them.
Everything on tag was made with Tim Holtz products except the die cut phrase. The Season Greeting has 6 coats of distress paints before choosing chipped sapphire. Each of the six colors was heat set and then another color was added until I was pleased with the results.
Note: my camera didn't take a good photo of this tag; it's actually a blue background.

Christmas Bag Toppers

It's hard to pick a favorite!
This year I chose five digital images to make a bunch of bag toppers filled with mints.
Many of my digital images was made with distress papers by Tim Holtz.
I used 3 D dots on Snowman and Santa.
All toppers were made with my Silhouette Cameo and Jamie Lane Designs: http://jamielanedesigns.blogspot.com/2014/10/holiday-bag-toppers.html

I chose the Santa to go to my mother, the rest will go to our daughter and son in law, son and dil with 5 children, grand-daughter with hubby with two children, granddaughter with hubby and two children and one sister and family. I finished these too late to send to my oldest sister, two brothers and hubby's brother.

12 Tags of 2014 ~ December

I love Tim's tag this month!
Tim ask if everyone has had a chance do a tag each month, for me, I'll have to say no, I missed a month or two. In the last few weeks I've started feeling better and ready to get back into stamping. I hope Tim continues with the 12 tags of 2015 next year.

Check out Tim's 12 Tags of 2014 for December:
http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2014-december/

I used what Tim Holtz supplies I had in my stash to make my three tags for December.
I used Tim's festive greenery strip die, Stickles Distress Glitter, Distress Paints, Distress Inks and Industrial Stickers. If you have a chance to buy his Stickles Distress Glitter, do so you wouldn't be disappointed. I used Tim's distress glitter with tea infuser (from my kitchen) on the deer, phrase and snowflakes. Distress paints to color deer, foliage, bells, snowflake and phrase. Distress inks to color trims.
My Wow was watching droplets form to reveal snowflakes on my tag following Tim's technique.
I completed the first tag far right, I was disappointed using a black ink pad on background, sorry Tim I missed that step using a lighter shade. Since I had two deer left I made two more tags, each one similar but different.
Layers of chipboard were used to make deer and snowflakes with my Cameo. I completed all the tags with a die cut called small easel by Tim. I love using this die with my tags to make them stand up.

After finishing the tags, all were given away to our daughter and her two married girls.

My mother and I have enjoyed seeing what Tim does each month. She calls me or I'll call her to say Tim's new tag is up. I hope her continues next year. When we get together it always involves viewing Tim's tags or the designer team projects.

Peace on Earth

I were inspired to make my own tag after viewing Tammy's beautiful tag on Facebook.

Update December 8, 2014,  I found Tammy's tutorial:
http://rangerink.com/stickles-glazed-holiday-tag/

I created my own version of her tag before seeing her tutorial.

Alcohol inks were used to color clay coated glossy card stock and then die cut the small poinsettia on the Bigz die three times.  Vintage photo distress ink was used around each petal using a foam applicator tool.
One self-adhesive pearl embellishment was applied to each flower.
I used some of the same die cuts Tammy used.
The trims were made using a variety of distress inks. One yard of trim was used to make the bow.
