Spooky Tag

I didn't like the background portion of this tag until I added picked raspberry distress ink over the top. I stamped a script image covering the tag using jet black archival ink and heat set to dry. Then, I applied the tag to a piece of manila card stock that was cut larger than tag to give it a framed look. Next, I used an applicator tool to apply moved lawn distress ink around edges of manila piece. I love the results!

I stamped and die cut the adorable little crazy bird onto watercolor paper using jet black archival ink and heat set to dry. Then, I used a water brush with my watercolor crayons to color the bird. My crazy bird was glued onto the tag, and then I glued the derby hat and necktie onto the crazy bird. The eyes, beak and wing die cut pieces were watercolored and then glued to give my crazy bird dimension.

I stamped spooky and bird images with jet black archival ink onto tag, and then I used clear embossing powder, pouring off extra, and then used my craft heat tool. (You have to do this quickly before the archival dries)

You not alone if you are wondering why I put a bird on a bird? My dear hubby asked me the same thing.

12 Tags of 2015 ~ August

Hello all! Thank you for stopping by my blog!
When creating this tag I looked through my package of found relatives, I came across this photo of a young couple on they're wedding day.
Making this tag brought back memories when my dear husband and I married. We celebrated our 49th August 6.
Now, back to my tag;

I followed along with Tim's tag and then created my tag using these supplies: bundled sage, stormy sky and wild honey distress inks, friend set of word dies, tissue paper, SA stamps, small talk, multi medium, # 8 manila tags, vial labels, botanical remnant rub, heart idea-ology, arrow adornment idea-ology, black soot marker, archival black ink, multi-medium matte, white gesso and crinkle ribbon. I used stainless steel wire to connect the heart to the arrow.
The small talk says: "together is the best place to be"
From the Friend #660213 thinlits die set I used; Together, Forever, Genuine, Smile, Everyday, Friend!

This is Tim's inspiring tag:

Bird Crazy Tags!

I've ordered Tim's July release bird crazy dies and new crazy talk stamps that goes with my bird crazy stamps. While waiting for them to arrive, I was inspired to use Dyan Reaveley's hat stamp on this tag. The words were made with chit chat and my hand writing. I used glitter on the owls wings after it was painted and applied to tag. Three clear bling were added to tag with glue n' seal.

I used paper that was made with my Gelli printing plate on both tag. The painted paper was applied to #8 manila tag with glue n' seal.

I used Ranger texture paste over the Gelli printed manila tag. I thought all texture paste were alike until I bought this container.
I really like how this tag turned out with the texture paste and layering stencil.
The moments word was made using one of my thinlits die by Tim Holtz.
I used a quote from Dyan Reaveley stamps on the above tag.
Bird crazy image was inked with archival black ink on watercolor paper, colored with watercolors, cut-out and then applied to tag.
The crinkle ribbon was made using one of my brown distress inks.

While setting this page up to post, I found out my bird crazy dies and crazy talk stamps CMS 236  were shipped today.

Bird Crazy Tags by Harvest Heald

Our 9 year old niece came over today while I was at my mothers home. She saw my stamping supplies and asked if she could play. She created a story about each one of her tags while she was stamping and coloring the bird images. She did all the inking, stamping, painting and cut-outs. This was her first time to play with rubber stamps.
I think she did an excellent job on all of her tags!
She used papers from my Gelli Printing Plate on the tags, Tim's bird crazy stamps and die cuts and Dyan Reaveley hats and quotes stamps.
