12 Tags of 2016 March ~ Butterfly Duo

I kept the corrugated shipping box my distress crayons came in this past Monday. I followed Tim's tutorial with supplies I had in my stash and then finished it with metal word from my stash.
I love Tim's distress crayons!

Thinking of You

Making this card back in 2009 must have reminded me of springtime. I used a brayer with a variety of ink pads to make the foreground and background. Bird and quote are clear stamped image by inkadinkado.

I hope you are enjoying the look back to some of my stamped images while I waiting for my muse to come back.

Dylusions Tag

I made this fun tag September 2012 and its worth repeating since I get so many pins on Pinterest. I used Dylusions stamps, distress markers, distress inks, archival black ink, sprays and more. When I made this my favorite distress markers were barn door, wild honey, crushed olive and faded jeans. Today, 2016, I like all of the markers.

Embossed Frame Technique

Embossed Frame Technique
by Judy Cantrell
Supplies:
Card stock
Embossing Folder
Scallop Oval Frame
Die Cutting Machine
Paper Trimmer
Distress Ink pad
TH Rubber Stamps
Blue tape
Cardboard or chipboard from
Cereal and snack boxes

This idea came about in 2011 when I wanted
a embossed design with a plain oval center.

The two pieces top left: chipboard from snack boxes, top right embossed card front. [see close-up below] Bottom left one cutting pad, die and embossing folder. Bottom right is my chipboard template I made with die cuts.
Instructions:
1.        Use paper trimmer to cut a piece of white card stock 4 ¼” x 5 ½.” Set aside.
2.        Die cut 3 frames with thin chipboard. Stack and glue them together. Place something heavy on the die cut frames and set aside to dry. When dry they are 1/16” thick.
3.        Place your white card stock inside an embossing folder.
4.        Go near a window or door with the embossing folders, chipboard frame and two pieces of tape.
5.        Hold the embossing folder with the card stock inside up to the light with the die-cut frame on back side of the embossing folder.
6.        You are doing this to center the frame stack in the center of white card stock. Tape the frame to the back of the embossing folder
7.         Place one or two pieces of chipboard, then the die-cut chipboard frame taped to embossing folder, then one cutting pad.

Note: only use one cutting pad with this technique.
If using your Cuttlebug do a sandwich in this order:
A plate, one or two pieces of chipboard, die cut frame taped to embossing folder with card stock inside and B cutting plate.
8.        Run this through your die cutting machine.
9.        You should have a border around the paper with a blank inside perfect for a stamped image.
10.   Stamp an image in center of card stock, embellish and then adhere to finished card.

Thanks for looking at one of my older projects. This one was published
September 2011.
Now, Tim has many of this type of embossing templates.

Clear Film Stamped Card

Looking back from 2009 when I made this lovely stamped card. The heart and background behind the gold paper was made with the color pop tutorial. The girl stamped image was made on clear film using a Hearts in Touch image. The background stamp from Hero Arts and a heart punch. Button was painted using Metallic paint dabber.

Have a nice day! Come back soon!

Tulip Tag

I started this little tag a few weeks ago and just now finishing it!
A vintage tulip stamp was inked with memento tuxedo black on neenah 110 lb card stock. Copic makers were used to color the tulips. Black card stock was used to add a border around tulips.
A vintage stamp was inked with archival black ink on a #5 manila tag and then distress inks were used to color on and around the edges.
"Everything has beauty" small talk sticker from idea-ology was applied to tulips. Ribbon was inked with distress ink, heat dried and then applied to tag to finish.

Have a wonderful day and come back soon!
