Tissue Wrap Flowers CC2C#10

This piece was made for a challenge on Linda's blog: http://www.studiol3.blogspot.com/2012/06/compendium-of-curiosities-2-challenge.html
Linda ask us to create artwork using Tim's  Compendium of Curiosities Vol. #2
technique on page 37; Tissue Wrap Flowers.

I had a lot of fun creating this piece using a variety of Ranger products along with Stampers Anonymous stamps on this piece.

[The little white mark seen in the center of the flower is actually bling that didn't like my camera flash.]

Look out Petunia

Three spray inks were used on this tag before stamping Petunia, leaves and spider with Archival black ink. Watercolor crayons were used to color Petunia and the leaves.

You're the One

Mother and I played with our Dylusions stamps recently.  Each of us made 6 tags and worked on pages in our journals.
I used Dylusions stamps and Tim Holtz stamps on this tag, Memories Mist for the spray ink and Tim's distress powder on the sentiment. Watercolor crayons were used on the stamped girl and leaves. Archival black ink was used to ink all images on this tag.
The sentiment says; you're the one who makes me the way you see me. xo

Journal Page with Dylusions Stamps

This journal page was made using my new Dylusions stamps from Dyan Reaveley. I don't have any of her sprays yet but I'm having a good time playing with these stamps.
I started this page yesterday, and then added more stamped images today.
I bought more that will arrive this week from the club over on OWSE.
For the coloring I scribbled Lyra watercolor crayons over the watercolor journal page and then used a wet brush to color the background. All images were inked with Archival black.
The diamonds were made with a stencil from Crafter's Workshop and Liquitex modeling paste.
 Word stamps from Invoke Arts.

CC2C#8 Butterflies

Linda chose page 62 in  Compendium of Curiosities II. as our challenge technique this week; Repurposed Packaging. The butterflies are my challenge.

I was inspired to use Nature Discovery #049 stamp set from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous for this challenge on the designer paper tag die cut. The dark brown seam binding used on this tag came from my vintage stash, it was sprayed wet and heat set to give a distress look. Distress ink and Archival inks were used on this tag. Embellishment added with glue dots.

12 Tags of 2012 June; My Umbrella

Thanks Tim, I love all the details you used on your June tag of 12 Tags of 2012.
 http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2012-june/

I loved that umbrella! This photo was taken at my grandparents home, they lived up the road from us.

I printed a copy on gloss paper. Color was added to my dress using Tim's nib with fired brick distress ink.
I used Tim's stamp in the background from the stamp sheet Photo Studio #013, Tim's tiny tabs die cut for the tab, his word bands and the pen nib on this tag. To give the look of metal, I painted the tiny tab with silver dabber paint. Life Journey number 8 was added to the tab, I'm guessing that was my age.

Update: I asked my mother if she knew my age when she took this photo, she said I was around 8 years.

12 Tags of 2012 ~ May

.
Without embellishment and supplies like Tim used, I completed the tag the best I could. I haven't been home since the 7th of May.
I used pattern paper from my mothers stash.
I used Tim's flower strip die, stamps, dabber paint, distress ink and stains
I made paper flowers from Tim's strip die and then inked them with distress stain. White cotton crochet thread was knotted on one end. I used wild honey distress stain to color the knot and peeled paint distress stain to color for a stem. After the string was dry, I strung the flower with the knot for the center of flower, I applied the flowers to the tag to resemble a bouquet of flowers.
The seam binding was inked with distress stain and then heat set to dry.
Here is Tim's tag for May 2012: http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2012-may/

This a close-up of the flowers i made.

CC2C#5 Shattered Stains

Linda chose Shattered Stains challenge technique from Tim's newest book Compendium of Curiosities #2. Here is a link to this week's sponsor, Simon Says Stamp (www.simonsaysstamp.com). Out of respect to Tim, we can't share this technique to be eligible to participate.

The challenge technique page 48; Shattered Stain was made using Tim's die cut leaves for wings. The remainder of the tag came from my imagination.
I used Stampers Anonymous image by Tim Holtz on the movers and shapers arch die cut.
One of Tim's stamp on the handmade torso. I'm sure that is a one of a kind and looks like it was made that way. I cut a slit in the paper and slipped the neck into the torso. Distress markers were used on the torso and face.
Dyan Reaveley stamp was inked and painted with distress markers.
A word stamp inked with Archival black on Invoke Arts and portion of face stamp from B-Line Designs.
The background was made with several colors of Memories Mists sprays.
Distress inks was used to ink Tim's stamp on the arch and color the seam binding ribbons to finish.
My wish list would include some of Dyan's Dylusions Spray to use on this piece.

Simon Says Stamp will give a $25 gift certificate to one lucky, randomly-selected participant in this week's challenge!

Thanks for Looking and Have a Nice Day!!

12 Tags of 2012 ~ April Tag

I used a reflections stamp and texture fades embossing folder on the base of the tag like Tim used. The tag was distressed using a large variety of distress inks.
(Several were from his seasonal inks.)
My sweet little blue bird and branch images was made with my Silhouette digital craft cutter.
The teak wood "B" and metal word are from my stash of supplies. I used several colors of Tim's dabber paints on the little bird and distress powder on the branch.
The seam binding is from my vintage stash of supplies.
