Paper Doll with Red Dress

My little paper doll is all decked out with a cute red dress and ready for the New Year!
I'm ready for this year to be gone, I was sick for most of it.

To make this tag I used a Julie Nutting tag, Julie Nutting paper doll, Prima flowers and embellishment. Lace and ribbon from my stash. Bling in flowers from Paper Studio. Head band and dress from designer paper.
Trim: Archival black ink was used to ink a Tim Holtz stamp, then spray with water, then distress inks were used to color trim, wrinkle trim and then heat set to dry before applying to tag.
Archival ink is waterproof.
Thanks for looking!
Have a nice day!

I made this tag using Dina Wakley bird stamp, her paints on the bird and background. Tim Holtz tattered flower garland strip die was used to make the flowers using manila folders and my Susan's Garden tool kit.
Dots were made using a piece of plastic mesh. The strip of music was from my stash. The white circles were made with a jar lid and gesso.

Blue Bird with Butterfly

I had fun making this tag using one of the bird stamps by Dina Wakley. The bird was painted with Dina's heavy body paints. I made the tag using manila folder with my Tim Holtz/Sizzix die. I used Dina Wakley's paints on the tag, Dyan Reaveley stencil, Tim Holtz stencil and finished it off; using gesso with a jar lid. The butterfly was stamped on the tag and then on a separate card stock I inked the butterfly again and then added color with Dina's paints, it was then cut out and applied to tag leaving the wings free making them look 3-D. The branch the bird is sitting was made with my scissors and then painted with Dina's umber paint. Trim added to top was inked with distress inks.

Merry Christmas Pop-Up Card

Last week Sizzix had a fabulous sale. Saturday afternoon my FedEx package arrived with Pop n Cuts dies by Karen Burniston. I already had a few of her dies but now have more.

This card was made using designer paper with Karen's multi-tier pop n cuts insert. I also used two of Tim's on the edge dies, his blueprint snowman stamp that was inked with Archival black, cut out and then painted with distress markers, his word stamp was inked with Archival black and stamped frame image with inked with distress ink, his tree stamp that was inked with distress ink and cut out.

Snowflake designer paper was purchased at Tuesday Morning this past Tuesday.

I've been busy this week making Christmas cards using Karen's pop-up dies and then finishing them with my stash of stamps and dies. I hope to get those finished and sent off soon.

One last item: A new rubber stamp art book is in the works. Here's a link to their home page, where you'll see a notice about the book and a link to a PDF with details.

12 Tags of 2014 ~ November

November 1, 2014

Tim shared his tag early this morning:
Tim talks about the fall colors in New England. I recall how beautiful the fall colors were growing up in the southern Oklahoma. My parents lived 10 miles from town and had lots of trees on their property.
This afternoon, I made this tag using what supplies I had on hand at my mothers home. I always bring down a few boxes of dies and supplies predicting what I'll need. I used a mini blending tool to apply broken china mixed with a little dusty concord distress ink on tag with Stripes stencil THS004.
The mover and shaper arch die cut was distress inked with dusty concord, and then I taped down Burlap THS007 stencil over the inked arch to remove some of distress ink with a wet sponge.
I used the largest leaf from Tim's tattered leaves die. I painted four before choosing this one to use on my tag. I added distress Stickles rock candy over the painted leaf.
In my stash of bits and pieces was just the right size piece of Vintage Lace die cut black paper, so that was what i applied to my arch die cut. I added a little distress stickles rock candy on a portion of paper vintage lace. (Look at close-up below)
The stamp was inked with Archival black ink on my tag. Vintage photo distress ink was inked around the edges of tag to finish.
Supplies by Tim Holtz: arch mover shaper die, tattered leaves die, vintage lace die, tag die,
burlap and stripes stencil, rubber stamp, stickles; rock candy, craft sheet, mini blending tool and distress ink pads: broken china, dusty concord and vintage photo.

Archival ink by Ranger
Sizzix die cutting tool
Paper ribbon added to tag
Dina Wakley paints
My well used and loved craft sheet was used as a background in this photo.

Here is a close-up of the my tag.

Three more leaves I painted with Dina Wakley's paints.
