Cute Prima Doll

When you can't sleep you play with stamps, I covered this tag using another page from Prima 6x6" pad. Designer paper was used on the dress using a Prima mixed doll. All three flowers were made from different manufactures; one from Tim's  poinsettia die, one from Prima and one from my Silhouette die cutter. Velvet leaf from my stash. Gold and sequin bling was added along with Viva gold. Love the little butterfly embellishment it's from the clearance isle as Michael's.
Seam binding trim from my vintage stash.

Today my Prima mixed media doll is going to Paris. I used Prima mixed media doll stamp, Tim Holtz Eiffel Tower die and embossing folder, Silhouette digital die cut flowers with stamen and bling, butterfly and supplies from my stash.
I discovered I could make my own dots using Viva Paper Pen. (those are the ones next to Eiffel Tower)

Carnival Themed Challenge

The moment I saw these stamps the idea came that I could make a carousel, I used a few HIT stamps, punches, card stock, paper, chop sticks, Lumiere metallic gold paint, embossing ink and powder, watercolors, an empty roll of plastic wrap, plastic lid as a base and lots of glue.

I have memories of something like this outside our little grocery store as a kid.

I'm submitting this project for a carnival themed challenge over on Simon Says Stamp Blog: http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/challenge-carnival/

Red White and Blue

Happy 4th Everyone in America!

This was one of the easiest pieces I've made in a long time. Adhere print to journal page, apply paint, stamp images, add gesso over the top with watermark stamp from
Tim Holtz; Americana Silhouettes #122.
I forgot to add that I used masking tape to mask off some words on the stamp before inking and peeled it off before stamping on page.

Antique Swirls and More ATC's

These are ATCs made using images from
 # 137 Antique Swirls sheet from Hearts in Touch.

Stickles was added to flowers on this ATC.

Let's Sew

This image was inked with distress ink and while still wet I rubbed some of the ink off to give a vintage look.
Distress markers were used on some of the images.
The needle image was stamped and added to tag.
Ace thread image was stamped on tag.

The hemp cord used on this tag reminds me of supplies I used years ago when I made all of the clothing except for jeans for my family.
I also made sofa pillows, drapes, quilts and recovered chairs and sofas. Now, my sewing machine is used for craft and small sewing project.

12 Tags of 2913 ~ June

It's been awhile since I worked on a 12 tags of 2013 so early in the month. I used Tim's directions but used what stamps I had that would complement the type of technique he used.
You can see Tim's gorgeous tag here: http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2013-june/

I love Tim's Distress Paints. I held back buying any because I thought they were the same as acrylic paint. After buying 3 bottle I knew I wanted more. I don't have all he has but do have some that complement each other. And don't get me started on Tim's distress markers, these are very nice too.

I don't think the architecture piece from Classics#2 was intended to be colored like this but it coordinated with the beautiful blue background using the Salty Ocean distress paint.
(Note: distress markers were used on architecture piece)

I used Tim's tag die, Tim's Distress Markers, Tim's Distress Paint, Tim's Classics #2, Archival Black ink, Heat it tool, Strathmore Watercolor cold press,
Water brush, Distress paints on trim, Manila card stock and Spray bottle.

Tornado Inspired Journal Page

Couldn't sleep due to weather here in Oklahoma May 31, it's now 3:20 am June 1. On my craft table is a journal page. I started painting the background with my new distress paints and then I got out Viva Las VegaStamps and started stamping. In the background you can see brick wall in all directions, chevron, flowers, hot air balloon and more using Memento rich cocoa before adding the darker images with StazOn black ink. Wish now the stamped the mushrooms were upside down.

I had to laugh, I didn't look and stamped the Instagram image upside down.

Be safe if you are in the path of the Tornadoes. After seeing all the flooding in Oklahoma City I need an above ground safe room.
